I hope everyone had a fun-filled holiday weekend. My 4th of July started off with a 5k race! cCm and I ran some and walked some (although cCm ran a lot more than me!) The weather was perfect for the race, cool, breezy, but sunny. The course is down a major road that is blocked off first for the race, and then for a parade! When you run, there are hundreds upon hundreds of people that line the street for the entire race. Some hold hoses to cool you down, and a lot handed out cups of water. I loved it. Then we went to a family friends house for lunch which was delicious as usual. SO much food, and lots of fun people. Then we headed over to the CC which is usually so crowded on the 4th, but this time, it was not. Maybe that's because none of us actually ever stepped foot in the water becuase we were in sweatshirts it was so chilly (at least it wasn't too cold to wear the cute pool shoes pictured to the left)! That was a bummer, but none the less, we all made the best of it. Then we had family friends over for dinner, and watched fireworks. Mac goes insane when there is thunder, so of course, he goes doubly insane when there are fireworks! He pants so hard, and shakes, and literally jumps onto your lap and he wants you to cradle him and hug him like a baby. What a sissy dog! bRc was on vacation the whole weekend with his family, and he brought be back the cutest crew neck nantucket-red sweatshirt, it's so cozy, I love it. While on vacation I get a call from bRc and the conversation went a little something like this:bRc: "sCe, I don't like your new blog picture and colors, it's just not you, the pink blog with the other picture was just so much more you, change it back!"
sCe: "Woah, Ok, I didn't know you were so opinionated about the aesthetics of my blog"
bRc: "Well I am, and by the way, you have one comment!"
The conversation was just too funny. bRc loves that I have a blog, and loves reading what I have to say. I'll always get a call or text at some point in the day saying "I loved your entry today, and you got 4 comments, way to go!" I love that he supports me and I love that he likes to read what I have to say! So, needless to say, I'm back to the old layout, and that is how it will stay.
On Friday, my parents drove down to UVA to pick up cCm from lacrosse camp, on their way back, they stopped at some outlets. They picked up this great oxford cloth Ralph Lauren skirt for me:
The skirt is so cute, this picture was taken on my phone so it just doesn't do it justice, but I love it! They also got me the L.L. Bean duck shoes. I had several pairs when I was younger, but have not had a pair for several years, so they bought me a pair, they will be perfect for cold wet days when I'm walking to class.In the mail on Friday, I also received my sorority proofs. They will be in our composite for this year. I didn't even know we would get the proofs, but we did. I took the picture so long ago, when I saw it in the mail, I didn't even know what it could be. I took a picture of them on my phone to send to bRc so he could see them, but they're all right. Nothing too fantastic! But here is a picture of the proof taking on my phone, so very bad quality!
