LONDON FASHION WEEK BEAUTY TRENDS!

Well London Fashion Week is over but before we say hello to Milan, lets look at some of the beauty trends rocking the catwalk this past week! LOVING the black lipstick!

Lux Punk
This is about taking harder looks and softening them with a gorgeous glowing skin. Models were given black lips at Moschino or a thick black eye but never both. The rest of the face was worn almost as if there was no other make-up involved. Hannah Murray for MAC described it as “Think PVC beauty accents,” Products used included black track gel liner and the models had their lip created using black eye liner pencils.
90s skin
Apparently a lot of the models at LFW had glowing, almost make-up free skin. There was a lot of BB and CC creams behind this look. Word has it that Max Factor used almost no foundation but covered models with a lighter CC cream from their new range. The CC cream will launch in April in the UK.

Smokey Smudges
Make-up also had a slept in approach when it came to the eyes. Apparently this was created using a tiny bit of eyeliner and a touch of Elizabeth Arden eight hour cream to get the glossy texture.
Crazy lashes.
Thick large lashes at Todd were created by applying five coats of mascara. This look came from Maybelline who also used nothing but BB cream. I am guessing there is going to be a serious rush on BB cream over the summer. I think its been a relatively slow starter in the UK but if fashion weeks carry on using it then it could pick up a bit. I do think the models skin is a little sweaty looking though.....the temptation to grab a powder and dust the skin on the forehead is overwhelming!
Graphics
We have already have the graphic liner trend last AW so this is a newer more edgy take on it. This was created by Val Garland. It's basically a thin liner (I mean really really thin) with a graphic line under the eye over over it. This is going to take a steady hand and a very thin brush to recreate.
It's really individual as well - each model had something different.
The romantic smokey eye
It wouldn't be a post about beauty without the mention of the dreaded words 'smokey eye'. Anyway this was created by Hannah Murray for NARS cosmetics at Erdem so yes, expect a softer take on the harder trends. It was a smokey shade blended all the way up to the brows. The brows were then full yet groomed. Skin was then dewy and there were large amounts of liquid and cream highlighters used to create the glow. I think its safe to say that the matte look is out for next season!
